COURSE CONTENT

What will you Learn from this Course?

Day 1

  1. Applying the sequence of Basic Life Support (BLS) with primary and secondary assessments for a systematic evaluation of adult patients.
  2. Performing high-quality basic life support immediately, prioritizing chest compressions and integrating the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
  3. Recognizing and managing respiratory arrest promptly.
  4. Discussing the recognition and immediate management of acute coronary syndrome and stroke, including appropriate management strategies.
  5. Identifying and addressing bradycardia and tachycardia that may lead to cardiac arrest or complex resuscitation outcomes.

Day 2

  1. Recognizing and managing cardiac arrest until the resuscitation is completed or care is transferred, including post-cardiac arrest care.
  2. Establishing effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team.
  3. Evaluating resuscitation efforts during cardiac arrest by assessing the quality of CPR, monitoring the patient’s physiological response, and providing real-time feedback to the team.
  4. Understanding the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance.
  5. Discussing how rapid response teams or emergency medical teams can improve patient outcomes.
  6. Defining systems of care.

AUDIENCE

Prerequisites: You must be a licensed medical professional, such as a doctor, emergency medical technician (EMT), physician, or registered nurse.

English Language

The learner must be sufficiently competent in the use of the English language. All instruction and assessment must take place in English.
